Kristi Jacobs is the Founder, Lead Cinematographer, Photographer, and Editor for Kristi Jacobs Cinematography Studios.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Kristi started out as a wedding cinematographer, capturing beautiful weddings and telling love stories. She founded Kristi Jacobs Cinematography in 2013 and added photography to the repertoire in 2014. A hobbyist at heart and a love for what she does, Kristi Jacobs only takes on a set number of photo-shoots a year in order to create the best quality work in a timely manner. When she is not shooting or editing, she is a Labor and Delivery nurse, lactation consultant on a OB Floor, a wife, and a mom to two beautiful children.
Kristi Jacobs is a portrait photographer who found her niche in Maternity, Birth, Newborn/Babies, Seniors, and Family Photography. She is a natural light photographer and loves to shoot outdoors as well as utilize natural light in the indoor setting. She has a special place in her heart for newborn photography and feels comfortable in this setting because of her years of taking care of newborns. She is very familiar with the delivery room and her skills as a Labor and Delivery nurse have given her an advantage in this field of Birth Photography. She currently shoots at Lutheran, Dupont, and Parkview North Hospitals, but is open to more locations. She can only do birth story sessions upon availability any money paid will go towards the next session if unavailable.
KJCstudios was featured in December of 2015 on Woman's Health Advantage page for her birth photography and again in 2021. She volunteers as needed to help photograph the fetal demise photos for moms who have lost babies at her local hospital and is involved in the resolve through sharing program that helps families with the loss of a child. She also recently received a grant for her involvement in this through Live Generously.
She opened her own Photography Studio out of her new home in August of 2017, and enjoys doing newborns and other sessions in her new studio.
At this time, Kristi Jacobs does not offer wedding photography, so she can focus on her love for wedding videos.
Videography
Kristi Jacobs got her start with Videography by first filming small skits for her local church. Kristi Jacobs has no formal education in Videography, but is completely self taught. She has soaked every ounce of knowledge from those who have pursued this field, and has answered the call to create beautiful memories for others. She is very passionate about Wedding Films. She loves to capture the emotion of each couple's special day. She started this journey in 2013, and her cousin was her very first client. Today, Kristi Jacobs has established a successful business, but will always be a hobbiest at heart. With all the extra things most videographers are incorporating today, Kristi prefers to take a more organic approach to shooting. She loves the true raw moments as they unfold and believes no moments should be forced or staged. Kristi loves to get to know her couple's and discover each individual couple's style. She only uses legally licensed music in her videos, and for this reason she chooses the music for each video to match each couple's style. Kristi Jacobs prefers to be as unobtrusive as possible, and enjoys working along side photographers with the same philosophy. Kristi has worked with and loves to shoot with some great local photographers: including but not limited to Dustin and Corynn, Kristen Mittlestedt, Della Terra, J3Designs, Morgan Ruth Photography, Jenna Stoller, and Stevenson Photo.
